Purchasing a house in Portugal now has a median cost of 2,783 euros per square meter (euros/m2) at the end of November, according to the idealista price index.
Prices of houses for sale have risen over the last year in the 20 district capitals, with Vila Real (19.5%), Ponta Delgada (18.2%) and Leiria (17%) leading the list. The list of rising housing costs continues with Évora (15.1%), Coimbra (13.3%), Santarém (13.3%), Setúbal (12.1%), Funchal (11%), Braga ( 10.3%), Faro (10%), Viseu (9.9%), Beja (8.9%), Bragança (8.4%), Porto (7.8%), Portalegre (5.7% ), Guarda (5.4%), Castelo Branco (5%), Lisbon (4.8%), Viana do Castelo (2%) and Aveiro (0.7%).
Lisbon continues to be the city where it is most expensive to buy a house: 5,685 euros/m2. Porto (3,692 euros/m2) and Funchal (3,505 euros/m2) occupy second and third place, respectively. Next come Faro (3,204 euros/m2), Setúbal (2,528 euros/m2), Aveiro (2,503 euros/m2), Évora (2,336 euros/m2), Ponta Delgada (2,136 euros/m2), Coimbra (2,064 euros/m2). m2 ), Braga (1,962 euros/m2), Viana do Castelo (1,856 euros/m2), Leiria (1,610 euros/m2), Viseu (1,564 euros/m2) and Vila Real (1,365 euros/m2).
