On Facebook, the Parque das Nações Parish Council reveals that the restoration work will be carried out "by the team that built it for Expo'98", the JFPN, under the Delegation of Powers Contracts (CDC) of mandate, agreed with the Lisbon City Council (CML) and which will last a few months.
The last intervention was carried out eight years ago.
Expo'98, had more than 10 million visitors between May and September 1998, and had Gil as its mascot, a stylised blue drop of water, who welcomed everyone who entered the exhibition.
Its image was so strong that, to this day, it is one of the symbols of Parque das Nações.
