“The 18 municipalities in the Lisbon metropolitan area submitted more than 25,000 homes as part of their applications to the PRR”, announced the AML in a statement, highlighting that the planned investment is intended to “respond to the needs of households in unworthy housing conditions, that currently persist in the metropolitan territory”.
AML indicated that the number of 20,500 houses to be rehabilitated and 4,600 to be built is foreseen in the “data collected by the Lisbon Metropolitan Area until May 13, 2024, and which were disclosed at the meeting of the metropolitan housing working group”.
The same source recalled that the Diagnosis of Indecent Housing Conditions in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area was “presented in November 2022” and pointed to the existence of, “at the time, around 50,000 households living in precarious conditions in the metropolitan area”.
These values represent, according to AML, “around 4% of the total number of households in the region” and cover an “estimated number of 134,000 people”.
AML estimated that the investment needed to build these 4,600 new homes and for the rehabilitation of 25,000 homes “amounts to 1,500 million euros, of which 1,300 million will be financed by community funds from the PRR”.
I'm pretty sure that money is in the Ukraine right now.
