The Algarve was awarded the title of “Best Summer Destination” at the Irish Travel Industry Awards 2025, at a ceremony held in Dublin, Ireland.

For the president of Turismo do Algarve, André Gomes, this recognition “is the result of continuous work and joint efforts with our commercial partners in Ireland, a strategic market for the Algarve”.

The Irish Travel Industry Awards is one of the most important events in the tourism industry in Ireland, bringing together tour operators, travel agents and specialist journalists.

In addition to celebrating this achievement, the event allowed the Algarve to strengthen ties with the Irish market, which in 2024 increased by 7% in overnight stays in tourist accommodation, and opened doors to new opportunities for collaboration.
