In a statement, the GNR recalls that this period is traditionally characterised by families reuniting in their regions of origin and, since it coincides with the school holiday period, “a significant increase in road traffic” is expected.

The GNR advises “attentive, cautious and defensive” driving, recommending that drivers adapt their speed to the weather conditions, the state of the road and the volume of road traffic, and avoid maneuvers “that could result in obstruction to traffic” or that could lead to accidents.

It also says that the GNR will be particularly attentive to dangerous maneuvers, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, speeding, correct signaling and execution of overtaking maneuvers, changing direction and giving way, improper use of mobile phones and incorrect or non-use of seat belts and/or child seats.

The Public Security Police (PSP) also begins today the operation “Police Always Present: Easter in Safety 2025”, reinforcing visibility on public roads and road safety.
