Fuel prices “followed the behaviour of international markets”, in which the price of a barrel of oil increased in the same period. The barrel of Brent, a reference for Europe, rose 7.4% compared to July.
In the same document, ERSE highlights that hypermarkets maintain the most competitive offers in road fuels, followed by operators in the low-cost segment.
In geographical terms, the districts of Castelo Branco, Braga and Portalegre recorded the lowest diesel and gasoline prices in mainland Portugal. In contrast, Beja, Bragança, Guarda and Faro presented the highest prices.
