Portugal is expected to be one of the best-performing markets for the Air France-KLM Group's low-cost airline to/from France, but also to/from the Netherlands and Belgium.
The French-Dutch company offers 21 routes this winter and 23 in the summer of 2024 in Portugal, with connections between 10 destinations in France, the Netherlands, and Belgium and 5 Portuguese airports (Lisbon, Porto, Funchal, Faro, and Ponta Delgada), and will maintain the focus on Portugal. With an occupancy rate higher than last year, Transavia has very good prospects for Portugal in 2024 and is confident that destinations such as Porto and Lisbon – served by Paris-Orly, respectively, 7 and 5 times a day – will continue to be at the top of customers' preferences.
The new Faro – Nice summer route, starting on July 18th, in a seasonal operation, which takes place in July and August, with two flights per week, is also expected to boost passenger numbers overall.
“The Portuguese market remains a strategic market and a continuous success story for Transavia”, highlights Nicolas Hénin, executive vice-president of sales and marketing at Transavia France.
The official also highlights that on flights to/from Portugal, “our expectations could not be better for the whole of 2024. Portugal continues to be the 1st market for France and the 2nd globally, and is also one of the five main airlines to operate locally.”
“But our expansion will continue”, emphasises Niclas Hénin, indicating that “we are opening a new seasonal connection between Faro and Nice at the height of summer, an opening that fits perfectly with our development focus in the Côte d'Azur region”.
