As IPMA had already predicted, this Friday, January 17, the sun will shine throughout the country, with the exception of the Azores, where rain is expected, and Madeira, where cloudy skies are expected.
Temperatures are a little higher, but they do not exceed the maximum of 16ºC, predicted for Braga. For Porto, meteorologists predict a maximum of 15ºC and a minimum of 6ºC, for Lisbon a maximum of 14ºC and a minimum of 6ºC, for Évora a maximum of 12ºC and a minimum of 3ºC and for Faro a maximum of 15ºC and a minimum of 6ºC. Guarda and Bragança will be the coolest districts, reaching temperatures of up to -3ºC and -1ºC in the next few hours.
For Saturday, January 18, the IPMA predicts a very similar scenario, however, it will rain only in the Western Group of the Azores (Flores and Corvo). On the other islands of both Portuguese archipelagos the sky will remain cloudy. In mainland Portugal, the sun continues to shine, with temperatures expected to reach a maximum of 16ºC (Braga, Viseu, Santarém and Sagres) and drop below -2ºC (Bragança).
In Porto, temperatures should fluctuate between a maximum of 15ºC and a minimum of 5ºC. In Lisbon between 13ºC and 4ºC, in Évora between 13ºC and 1ºC and in Faro between 15ºC and 4ºC.
For Sunday, the IPMA predicts that precipitation will reach most districts in mainland Portugal, mainly the North and Central Coast, as well as both autonomous regions. The temperatures will remain low.
In Porto, where rain is forecast, temperatures are expected to rise to 13ºC and fall to 6ºC. In Lisbon, where rain is also expected, temperatures will range between a maximum of 12ºC and a minimum of 5ºC.
In Évora and Faro, where the sky will be partly cloudy, temperatures will be between a maximum of 13ºC and a minimum of -1ºC and between a maximum of 15ºC and a minimum of 4ºC.
According to IPMA, Sunday's rain is expected to last for days and be intense.
