Established in 1984 by the WHO and the International Menopause Society, the purpose of this day is to raise awareness about the impact of menopause on the lives of women around the world. Menopause is not an illness. It is a normal part of aging. What differs are the symptoms experienced by every woman who goes through this transitional phase in life. And often, it is the lack of open discussion and awareness about the impact of menopause on a woman’s life, in the workplace and even at home that makes it challenging.

Of the ways women can more effectively navigate the varying symptoms of menopause, one is awareness, the second is reducing stress, and third is self-care. This is where a regular yoga practice can make a difference. A regular yoga practice that includes affirmations, poses, breath work, and meditation can make an impactful difference to how a woman navigates, accepts and embraces the changes that come with this stage of life.

With this in mind, the Yoga for Menopause session offered by HenricaYogaAlgarve on 19 October at Espaço Vital in Lagoa from 3:30pm to 5:00pm in both English and Portuguese where participants will be provided a “toolbox” of simple yoga practices for their self-care.
